OUR PURPOSE

We are a community that exists to worship the one true God and equip believers in becoming evermore faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.

A Community of Believers
We were never intended to live the Christian life alone. We are not equipped to live the Christian life alone. Believers are given spiritual gifts that are to be used to bless the whole community. Christ is the head of the community of believers (the Church). The Church are his arms and feet.

One True God
We worship the one true God who created everything and who is saving his creation through Jesus Christ from the curse of sin it is under as a result of humanity’s rebellion. We worship God and celebrate the covenant relationship we have with Him through faith in Jesus Christ by praising Him for who He is and for His great works. The Holy Spirit reveals God to us through Holy Scripture, brings us to see and repent from our sinfulness, and shapes us as we respond to the great love of the triune God.

Equipping Believers
The Church should provide believers with the tools, resources, and community to have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We want to help believers understand and share with others how the Gospel has impacted their lives and gives them hope. All Christians are called to participate in equipping and serving one another.

Evermore Faithful Disciples of Jesus Christ
We are striving to become obedient followers of Jesus Christ. But we do not do this alone. The Holy Spirit works inside Christians strengthening, encouraging, and equipping them to be obedient worshipers of God. Through our obedience we know that God will be glorified and only in relationship with Him will we be satisfied.

OUR BELIEFS

The Apostle’s Creed1
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Maker of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:

Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;

He descended into hell2
The third day He arose again from the dead;

He ascended into heaven, and sitteth
on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge
the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit;
the holy catholic3 church;
the communion of saints;
the forgiveness of sins;
the resurrection of the body;
and the life everlasting.

1The Apostle’s Creed is an ancient confession. It is not authoritative in the way Scripture is, but it is deeply theological and summarizes what all Christians believe.
2We understand the phrase “he descended into hell” to mean that Jesus Christ suffered God’s wrath against sin physically, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. He experienced infinite suffering in our place.
3The word catholic means world-wide.
